Overview
För Alla Unga was created to help young people better understand mental health in a format designed for school use. The experience needed to feel safe, clear, and approachable without becoming clinical or emotionally distant.
The challenge
The challenge was not to make the topic lighter, but easier to approach. The material had to support difficult conversations in a way that worked both for students and for facilitated classroom use.
My role
I was responsible for the visual direction and the illustration system, and worked closely with the interface designer and the wider team to shape how the experience felt and communicated.
Key decisions
Use illustration as support.
The illustration style was designed to lower the threshold into sensitive topics and make the material feel warm, human, and approachable without becoming childish.
Design for the classroom.
This was not just a standalone digital experience. The visual and communicative style had to support discussion, pacing, and guidance in real school settings.
Keep the tone calm.
Readability, restraint, and tonal consistency mattered throughout. The design needed to support trust and understanding more than visual effect.
Outcome
The value of the work was a stronger emotional and visual foundation for the programme. My contribution helped shape how the content was received and how supportive and usable it felt in context.
